Dunga’s bizarre selections as Brazil manager continue, folks.
The World Cup winner has named his squad for the upcoming qualifiers, and it features an MLS veteran as well as a number of players still plying their trade in Brazil
Here’s the entire squad to face Paraguay and Uruguay at the end of March:

Coutinho has been recalled having been left out of the last squad, but Roberto Firmino’s name is nowhere to be seen.
In 2016, Firmino has scored six goals and registered four assists for us, finding his Premier League feet and establishing himself as a key Liverpool player. He’s 24-years-old and will surely be in his prime when the World Cup takes place in 2018.
Kaka is nearing 34 and plies his trade in MLS, a competition nowhere near as intensive as the one Firmino’s been playing in. Leandro Lima is decent, but Ricardo Oliveira is 35-years-old. Nobody could possibly argue he’s a better option than Firmino centrally right now.
Still Brazil’s loss is our gain. Firmino will stay on Merseyside and get fresh for some hopefully crucial April fixtures. We hope the news hasn’t got him too down.
