NHS Blood and Transplant are looking to the passion of Liverpool fans to help with their latest campaign. Sign for is aimed to recruit thousands of individuals to join the Organ Donor Register.

The Sign for Life campaign is running up until March 13th and there’s a range of publicity about how you can help and how you can get involved.

At the latest count over 6,500 people in the UK are waiting for a donor organ, so your help can play a huge part in determining the lives of so many.

Here’s what Sally Johnson, Director of Organ Donation and Transplant at NHS Blood and Transplant, says why the campaign is focusing on clubs and their loyal supporters :

Football inspires incredible passion and it is well known the games prompt great debate. With support from clubs and players we hope to spark some half-time conversations about something which could so easily touch any and all of our lives”.

The campaign is about encouraging would-be donors to talk to their partners and families about the decision to be on the register.
