Liverpool trial full Indian international and his club team-mate

Liverpool have given a trial to two impressive teenagers from our Indian feeder club DSK Shivajians, reports the Metro.

We’ve set up a relationship with DSK to help train their youngsters, but also to take a closer look at their best players should any of them particularly impress, and Lallianzuala Chhangte and Jerry Mawia have headed to the Kirby Academy as a result.

Chhangte is a full Indian international and the youngest player to ever score for his country, bagging two goals in three games aged just 18. His team-mate Mawia is less heralded, but arrived on a flight with Chhangte at the weekend to show our Academy staff what he can do firsthand.

Apart from what we’ve read in these reports, we know very little about the pair – although it’s interesting to see the club continuing to scour the world for potential improvements to the youth teams.

In recent windows, we’ve acquired Bobby Adekanye, Brooks Lennon and Taiwo Awoniyi from various corners of the planet, proving that no stone will be left unturned in our attempts to buy the best young players available.

Yan Dhanda is currently on Liverpool’s books and is of Indian heritage too, although he represents English youth sides.
