England squad announced: Daniel Sturridge included alongside four other Reds

Hold your breaths, Reds.

Roy Hodgson has called Daniel Sturridge back into his England squad – probably the scariest thing the buffoonish manager does to Liverpool fans.

Every supporter will remember that Sturridge’s nightmarish injury run begun at the beginning of last season when he picked up a problem on international duty despite the club’s protestations that he shouldn’t have been called up.

He’s not made an England squad since, but now has been selected alongside Jamie Vardy, Harry Kane and Danny Welbeck for the striker positions.

Elsewhere, international stalwarts James Milner, Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson have also been selected in a midfield category which includes Danny Drinkwater for the first time.

England’s starting right-back Nathaniel Clyne makes the squad, and barring injury, he’ll surely start for the Three Lions this summer at the Euros.

England take on Germany and Holland during the international break, but Liverpool fans will solely be focussing on the return of the five in good health.
