Steven Gerrard, our legendary former captain, would one day love to manage Liverpool with his ex-team-mate Jamie Carragher, the Echo reports.

“I’ve imagined it a lot,” Gerrard told a MR PORTER interviewer.
“Jamie’s knowledge of the game is superb. I know the amount of time and effort he puts into to the work that he does now. Also how much he loved the game when I played with him. I think we’ll both work for the club again at some point during the rest of our lives. When that will be, I don’t know. Will that be together? I’m not sure.
“Would I work with Jamie Carragher again for Liverpool? Of course I would, without a doubt, but it’s for other people to make that decision. I think everyone knows, it goes without saying, that the club’s in our hearts and it’s difficult if the club come calling, but we’ve other things going on at the moment. It’s not as if we’re begging for it or desperate for it, but they know where we are.”
It would be interesting to see how a potential partnership would work! Gerrard always led by example by Carra’s been more vocal and (arguably) a more natural leader.
Currently, Gerrard is finishing off his glittering career in MLS with LA Galaxy. He’s likely to play one more full season with the franchise, in which he’ll hope to sign off with a maiden league title – something he sadly never achieved with Liverpool.
Carragher is forging a career as a pundit for Sky Sports, but his football knowledge and passion for Liverpool makes him a perfect candidate for a future role on our staff.
For now though, Jurgen Klopp is still new in the job and has his tried and trusted team alongside him. The German’s showed signs that he could build something special at Liverpool, and the way he’s united the club and fan-base has already been special to see.
It would be fantastic if Gerrard and maybe Carragher as well could learn their trade under his guidance some time in the future. Who better to learn under than Klopp – who could pave the way for the pair to eventually take charge once he’s won us a few league titles!
