Liverpool player named in PL’s 20 dirtiest of last 5 years, but Man. United’s elbow-baller top

The Telegraph has composed a list of the 20 dirtiest Premier League players of the past five seasons with the worst disciplinary records.

‘Disciplinary points’ combines fouls given away, yellow and red cards. A point each for a foul, three for a yellow card and six for a red card is ‘awarded’.

The only current Liverpool player on the list is Lucas, but if you look at games played, he’s on 105 – making his 12th place a little exaggerated.

Former Red Charlie Adam is included, who played a single season for Liverpool under Kenny Dalglish.

At the top, there’s an all too familiar name…

Marouane Fellaini is no.1, having picked up 23 yellows and one red in that time. Ironically, he should have picked up two reds during our Europa League victory over Manchester United – but wasn’t cited for either elbow.

He’s an undeniably dirty player, having previously stuck his arm in the face of our midfielder Joe Allen who was playing for Wales against Belgium at the time.

Here’s the rest of the list. Any players that surprise you…? Yaya Toure’s never made a tackle in his life has he?!
