Another strong hint that Mario Gotze is Liverpool bound emerges

There’s some reports on Liverpool transfer rumours we take more seriously than others…

And when Paul Joyce of the Express makes a direct claim, we take it very seriously. When it comes to Liverpool, he’s about as reliable as it gets.

Last night, he wrote that Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze has strongly ‘indicated’ he wants to leave Germany and play for Jurgen Klopp again.

What’s more, the story is backed up by the Guardian – who this morning make the exact same claims. Their report says ‘The Liverpool manager has identified Götze as a transfer priority for the end of the season.’

Luckily for us, Klopp manages Liverpool, which is making a summer transfer for the World Cup winning playmaker look all the more likely. Joyce claims that Carlo Ancelotti’s summer arrival at Bayern will not change Gotze’s mind, and that a transfer to Merseyside is now expected.

Due to Gotze’s contract having only one year to run, Joyce says we’ll only have to pay a bargain £20m for his services – which will be an unbelievable piece of business when you consider what that kind of money gets you nowadays.

(English playmakers such as Ross Barkley or Dele Alli would probably cost three times that, but Gotze is entering his peak and is a world superstar…)

In fact, if Liverpool do complete the exciting transfer, Gotze would be the first scorer of a World Cup winning goal to transfer to the Premier League.
