Liverpool have released voting information for the club’s official 2016 Players’ Awards.

And the nominees for Performance of the Season for the 2015-16 campaign show that the Reds have relished the big challenges this season – particularly since the appointment of Jurgen Klopp.

Previously this shortlist might have been dominated by Luis Suarez’s annual bullying of Norwich City, but all of the opponents this year are of a very high calibre. Here are the nominees:

A – Philippe Coutinho v Chelsea (31 October 2015)

B – Philippe Coutinho v Manchester City (21 November 2015)

C – Roberto Firmino v Arsenal (13 January 2016)

D – Adam Lallana v Manchester City (2 March 2016)

E – Mamadou Sakho v Manchester United (17 March 2016)

Our best performances this season have been saved for the Premier League matches with Manchester City, and Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana have been highlighted for those.

Lallana put in arguably the best display of his Anfield career in March’s 3-0 win over City, while Coutinho inspired the 4-1 rout of Manuel Pellegrini’s men at the Etihad Stadium in November.

Little magician Coutinho is also nominated for his role in Klopp’s first victory as Liverpool manager over Chelsea on Halloween, with his two goals giving us a 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge.

His fellow Brazilian Roberto Firmino is up for his two-goal effort in January’s 3-3 draw with Arsenal, while Mamadou Sakho – the only defender nominated – is recognised for his rearguard action in the second leg of our Europa League triumph over Manchester United last month.

Information on how to vote can be found on Liverpool’s official website.

The ceremony is being held on May 12 at Liverpool’s Exhibition Centre, and will celebrate the achievements of players from the the first team, ladies team and academy.
