Henderson injury concern – Liverpool captain a doubt for the Euros

Jordan Henderson left the Westfalenstadion on crutches this evening after picking up what appears to be a serious knee injury.

“It’s a disappointment about Jordan,” said Klopp. “He has a knee injury and that’s not too good – it’s really bad news. He will have a scan tomorrow.

“Jordan is really frustrating because each team in the world needs a little bit of luck, but it looks like we don’t have it.

“We need to wait for the scan and we hope for the best, but it doesn’t look good.

“I don’t want to speculate, what can I say until we have the scan, but it is not a small thing, I think, but we have to wait.” (via Echo).

Henderson picked up the knock a couple of minutes before the break, and despite playing on he was replaced by Joe Allen at half time.

Allen was arguably much better in the second half than Henderson was in the first, but it will still come as a bitter blow to Klopp. His captain has endured an injury-hit nine months, and admitted last week that he’d be struggling all season as a result.

The news will also be a concern to England boss Roy Hodgson. He is already without Jack Wilshere and losing Henderson as well would leave his side short of options heading into the summer.

Let’s hope the news is much better than we all fear.
