Liverpool angry as Marko Grujic misdiagnosed by Red Star officials

Here’s an interesting story, which as of yet has failed to reach the mainstream British press.

It’s from our Serbian friend Vlastimir Stevanovic, who broke and provided much backstory when Marko Grujic signed for Liverpool back in January. He translates Serbian newspaper reports for his Twitter followers, and is a big Liverpool fan.

Teenage midfielder Grujic was sent back on loan to Red Star though, where he’s taking part in his side’s procession to the title…

But earlier this month Grujic picked up an undefined injury against FK Vojvodina, but according to Stevanovic, Red Star treated the injury incorrectly and it’s caused Grujic further problems.

He reckons Grujic could travel to Melwood to be looked at by our staff now instead, with Liverpool officials annoyed at the situation. Interestingly, Stevanovic also claims the care (or lack of) Grujic is getting in Serbia proves he should’ve headed to Liverpool in January – when he would have likely got immediate opportunities due to our difficulties in central midfield.
