(Video) Jurgen Klopp gets antsy with journalist over Daniel Sturridge questioning post-Bournemouth

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp got into a row with a journalist who questioned him about Daniel Sturridge after our 2-1 victory against Bournemouth yesterday.

Klopp was annoyed that the post-match press conference began with him being quizzed about Sturridge, when he insisted that the win over the Cherries was a team effort.

He is quoted by the Metro as saying to Darren Lewis of The Mirror: “You want to talk about one player at the first moment? He was very good, but if you’re not interested in the game.

“Nobody is undroppable. I never look at any player and think “I can’t leave him out.” As a manager, I decide if I play with one, two, three or four strikers.

‘He’s a brilliant player. He had a very good game. This is a game, there are 11 players in different positions and you come to ask about one player. Each player had influence. It’s a team game.

“I enjoyed the game of Daniel Sturridge, but starting with a question like this? I can’t understand,” Klopp responded as Lewis allegedly shook his head. “That’s how you understand football? You really work in sports? One player can win a game? We live on different planets.”

You can understand Klopp’s frustrations. Some journalists hound him with questions over Sturridge’s form and fitness on a weekly basis, and this incident might help put a stop to that.

However, the striker was magnificent at the Vitality Stadium, scoring one goal and setting up another, and it would have done little harm to humour the journalist and simply praise his performance.
