Friends, family and campaigners for justice for the 96 finally got they’ve waited 27 years for today.

An inquest at a Warrington court concluded that Liverpool supporters did nothing wrong and the 96 supporters who tragically died in 1989 were ‘unlawfully’ killed by poor planning from the authorities.

You can read the verdict in full, here.

Now, it’s time for real convictions to be actively sought after – so those responsible can face proper justice for their actions.

Tony Barrett of the Times told the story live this morning, explaining how those inside the court celebrated the verdict as it was read about the jury’s foreman.

Finally, after 27 years – the truth is out there once and for all. The longest inquest in British legal history is over.

The 96 have the justice they and their families deserve.
