Andriy Yarmolenko’s agent, Vadim Shabliy, has shared a video on his Instagram page which confirms he was at Liverpool’s London office on Tuesday.

The highly sought after winger has been in great form all season – bagging 13 goals in 22 league starts, a figure which takes his career record to 80 goals in 193 league games.

Of course, the Ukrainian has most recently been linked with a move to our cross-city rivals Everton. Their boss Roberto Martinez tried and failed to bring him in last summer, and even watched him in person last month when Dynamo Kiev played Man City in the Champions League at the Etihad Stadium (via Echo).

Shabliy spoke about the collapsed move in an interview last autumn, saying “I talked to Roberto Martinez. He’s a great man. In general [Everton] is a good club, good team, I liked it very much.” (via Echo)

However, he also said “My priority [for the player] is the English Premier League”, and the Kiev president Ihor Surkis has now put a number of Premier League teams on alert as he admitted he was ready to sell the wide man:

“We cannot spoil the career of Andrey Yarmolenko, Aleksandar Dragovic and others who need to be let go,” Surkis said. “We can look for a replacement, but the primary task is to give a chance to young players.” (via Mail).

The Ukraine national team manager had already urged the player to move to the Premier League back in March, just after the player bagged the winner against Wales in a friendly.

“If he is wanted by the top English clubs then, yes, he can show his best in the Premier League and he must do this,” he said. “He is the leader of our team and leader of our squad.” (via Independent)

The winger has made 58 appearances for Ukraine, scoring 24 goals.

With our pursuit of Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze reportedly taking a knock after his native Borussia Dortmund confirmed their interest (via Independent) – the proven top-level Yarmolenko could prove to be an astute signing.

At 6 foot 2 and with pace in abundance, as a well as a verifiable goalscoring threat and experience in the Champions League, he would seemingly be a perfect fit for Klopp’s high-energy, high-speed tactical approach.
