It looks like Danny Ward will be handed his second senior start for the club as we travel to Wales to face Swansea on Sunday lunchtime.

Ward, who made his debut in the 2-1 win against Bournemouth on 17th April, will likely be one of a number of changes made by Jurgen Klopp.

“Danny did really well against Bournemouth, especially with no rhythm, it was very impressive,” Klopp said.

“I haven’t had a final talk with John Achterberg yet, but it is likely he will play at Swansea. I just need to find out how he feels after the long trip.

“He will certainly get another game before the end of the season because of the intensity of our schedule. Yes, probably he will play.” (via Echo)

The German was tight-lipped about who else might take to the field, but with the crucial Villarreal game the following Thursday, it is widely thought a number of fringe players will get game time.

According to the Echo, Brad Smith, Connor Randall, Martin Skrtel, Pedro Chirivella, Kevin Stewart, Cameron Brannagan, Sheyi Ojo, and Jordon Ibe will all start.

“We have to respect the intensity of the last game and think about line up for Sunday at 12pm,” Klopp added.

“It is not about next Thursday because if you think now about next Thursday you have no chance on Sunday. We will always respect the Premier League. But we need to have a look at the players.”
