Wenger begs Arsenal fans to be more like Liverpool ones

This makes us smirk to be honest, as we know how much Arsenal fans will hate hearing it!

Imagine if Jurgen Klopp told us to follow the example of another set of Premier League supporters…?

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who’s overseen another nothing season at the Emirates, has urged angry match-goers to be more like us Reds!

There’s a planned protest in the 12th and 78th minutes against Norwich at the Emirates this weekend, with most Arsenal fans having simply run out of patience after two decades under the Frenchman’s guidance – 12 years of which have been without a Premier League title.

“Liverpool are a good example to follow,” Wenger told his pre-match press-conference today – reported by the Telegraph.

“They’re a big club. We are a very big club. I can understand the frustration of our fans. But, despite that, they want to support our team.

“The best chance they can give our team is to be behind our team. Some groups of people try to manipulate our fans, and I believe apart from an agenda, a personal agenda, a big ego, there’s not a lot behind it.

“We lost the championship at home against the lower teams, but we played at home in a very difficult climate.”

The only reason Liverpool fans support Klopp is because we love him and his plans for the club. Wenger should have come to Anfield at the end of Brendan Rodgers’ tenure, when a plane flew over the stadium which read ‘Rodgers Out’.

In fairness though, we as a supporter base are rightly and historically regarded as the best in the country. Look at Anfield against Borussia Dortmund. Look at the unity and strength displayed after this week’s Hillsborough news.

We haven’t won the title in 26 years, but wouldn’t treat a legendary boss with the disrespect some Arsenal fans are treating Wenger.

Still, these comments are likely to infuriate Gooners, perhaps the majority of which now want the legend out.

But who will replace him? We’re so lucky we snared Klopp when we did and he’s ours for the foreseeable.
