Balotelli phones Milan boss to apologise for penalty miss, Gallani says “attitude has changed”

Mario Balotelli phoned AC Milan’s vice-president and CEO Adriano Galliani to apologise for missing a vital penalty at the weekend.

Francesco Bardi saved the spot kick at the San Siro club drew 3-3 with lowly Frosinone. It leaves them in 7th place in Serie A with just two games remaining; they are in serious danger of missing out on all forms of European competition next season.

“To give you an idea of how much Balotelli has changed, I’ll tell you that yesterday, 15 or 20 minutes after the game he called me and apologised for having missed the penalty,” said Galliani.

“He was unlucky yesterday, he missed the penalty and hit the bar in the 94th minute.” (via Echo)

Could Galliani’s quotes be construed as an indication that a potential transfer isn’t completely off the cards? Balotelli has largely struggled this season, bagging just a single league goal. It was widely thought that Milan were not interested in a permanent deal, but reports earlier this month suggested there was still a glimmer of hope (via Mail).

How much is he even worth these days? Let us know in the comments.
