Liverpool will select the strongest possible XI on Wednesday v Chelsea, one week before the Europa League Final, if Jurgen Klopp’s post match comments are anything to go by.

The boss was speaking following Liverpool’s easy 2-0 win at home to Watford, with goals from Man of the Match Joe Allen and substitute Roberto Firmino sealing victory.

James Pearce of the Echo was there to catch the German’s comments.

Regular starters Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren, Emre Can, James Milner, Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge were left out entirely today – so you can expect those six to definitely return for Chelsea’ trip to Anfield in three days’ time.

If Klopp is going with his best side, Simon Mignolet, Kolo Toure, Alberto Moreno, Coutinho and Roberto Firmino will play beside them – mirroring the exact team which dismantled Villarreal so expertly last Thursday.

This will enable these players a rest at the weekend against West Brom, before they travel to Switzerland and take on Sevilla in the Europa League Final on May 18th.

All we can do now is pray that no key men pick up injuries before the trip to Switzerland, as we’ve been unlucky in that respect on countless occasions this term.

Jordan Henderson and Divock Origi are battling to be back in the squad, but will have to prove their fitness on the last day of the Premier League season against West Brom in order for Klopp to consider them available for Sevilla.
