Bayern Munich’s soon to be manager Carlo Ancelotti is fuming that Liverpool have managed to pinch two key backroom staff members before he’s even arrived at the club, writes Chris Bascombe in the Telegraph.

Liverpool have now secured the contracts of fitness coach Andreas Kornmayer and expert nutritionist Mona Nemmer.

Kornmayer is one of the best conditioning coaches in Europe, with Jurgen Klopp desperate to increase the base level of fitness among his Liverpool squad. Nemmer has an enormous reputation and was brought to Bayern specifically by Pep Guardiola when the legendary Spaniard took the helm in 2013.

Now both will head to Melwood ahead of the 2016/17 season, as Klopp continues to stamp his mark on the club.

Liverpool also want to sign Bayern’s playmaker Mario Gotze, but according to the Telegraph, this comes with Ancelotti’s blessing.

For now, Liverpool’s season rests solely on one game, taking place next Wednesday in Basel. Winning the Europa League Final against Sevilla will earn as a spot in next season’s Champions League, but just as importantly, represent the first piece of silverware under Klopp’s stewardship.

We face West Brom at the weekend, but will surely field a very weakened side to keep the starting XI fresh for the trip to Switzerland.
