Kolo has been practising his penalties ahead of Sevilla showdown

You’ve got to love Kolo.

He’s seen how we’ve largely done things the hard way when we’ve been successful in Europe, so has preemptively decided to practice his penalties in case it goes all the way on Wednesday.

We’ve already been in three shootouts this season, beating Carlise and Stoke in the League Cup knockout rounds, before enduring a torrid shootout in the final against Man City.

In that City game, a lot of players were criticised for shirking their duties. Kolo is determined it won’t happen again.

“Of course we think about that [City game],” he said.

“I’ve been practising my penalties definitely. But the decision is taken by the manager who knows best. I know as an experienced player when the time comes you have to make a decision, to take or not.”

“We will see what happens. We have really technical players in the team and sometimes you go through tough times to have a better time.

“Against City was a tough time and we will learn from that as a team and only them we will make a decision for penalties but maybe we won’t need them”

He also said he wouldn’t discuss his contract until after the Sevilla game was over:

“I don’t know (about the future) but the most important thing for me is to win. If we can win that trophy I will be really happy.

“I don’t think about anything else. I don’t want to talk about that now because it is not finished and there is a big game coming.” (via Echo).
