Loris Karius’s unbelievable talent proven by ranking in best Bundesliga keepers poll

Posted by

Loris Karius has been voted a better keeper than Bernd Leno, Timo Horn, Ralf Fährmann and René Adler by Bundesliga players in Kicker Magazine’s end of season awards, reports the Metro.

Only Bayern Munich legend Manuel Neuer, possibly the best keeper in the world right now, came above him in a poll carried out by every player to have participated in this season’s German league.

Neuer received 23.8% of the vote, while Liverpool’s new signing picked up a cool 13.6% of the votes – not bad for a 22-year-old.

We finalised the deal to bring Karius to Anfield yesterday, announcing a £4.7m deal via the club website. The former Mainz stopper will now compete with Simon Mignolet for a place between the sticks, but if his Bundesliga counterparts are right, it won’t be long before Karius has nailed down the starting spot.

Mignolet committed far too many errors last season, and despite his occasional excellent save, fans cannot forgive the points and games we lost down to his individual mistakes.

If Karius can fulfil his talent, Klopp may have fixed our keeper problem in only his second transfer window – quite possibly for the foreseeable future due to the fact Karius is not yet 23.
