It’s nice to see Simon in such jovial spirits – after all, he will likely be our number two next season after Loris Karius’ arrival from Mainz.
Will Mignolet be happy with taking up duties on the bench? Let’s hope he is, it’s arguably been a decade since we had a dependable backup for between the sticks. In the early Benitez reign, we had Reina and Dudek and we also saw solid understudies like Carson and Kirkland come in.
