It’s the hope that kills you… The hope!
beIN SPORTS, a respected publication, are casually reporting that Liverpool will complete the blockbuster transfer of Gonzalo Higuain ‘very soon’.
They claim that once Napoli finalise the signing of Mexican midfielder Hector Herrera from Porto, they’ll allow the world-class Argentine striker to join us on Merseyside.
A few weeks back, a report in the Mirror suggested Higuain is actively pining after an Anfield switch, although it included no evidence to suggest they were correct.
We’d likely take this story with a pinch of salt, but last night during Argentina’s Copa America victory over Chile, Jurgen Klopp was pictured with Nicolas Higuain – the forward’s brother and agent.
These snaps, seen in the tweets below, have sent Reds online into overdrive, and one message even suggests our manager left as soon as Higuain was subbed. We cannot confirm that the guy Klopp’s with IS the Napoli man’s brother, although it sure looks like him.
(There are some rogue suggestions however that it’s actually Marc Klopp – Jurgen’s son!)

Is it just me or does the fella next to Klopp looks more like his son Marc Klopp than Higuain’s brother? pic.twitter.com/KTQGSZsue6

GULP!
There’s no actual proof to suggest Klopp’s there watching Higuain, and the fact he’s sat with his agent could be a coincidence, but we’d hope in this instance, there’s no smoke without fire.
Last term, the attacker bagged 36 Serie A goals, more than Daniel Sturridge, Christian Benteke and Divock Origi put together.
His potential signing will be the first time we’ve secured a player already in the world-class bracket since Fernando Torres in 2007. But we shouldn’t jump the gun!
