Balotelli involved in brawl resulting in triple finger amputation for bystander

On-loan Liverpool star (yes, he’s still technically our player) Mario Balotelli has reportedly been involved in a rather serious brawl back in Italy, although the level of his involvement is yet to be determined, according to Corriere della Sera (via Football Italia).

The controversial striker – who spent the season on loan with AC Milan – was allegedly out partying at a club called Coco Beach, but ended up getting into a brawl with a group of youngsters – how young they were isn’t specified.

It apparently all started with Balotelli taking some selfies with the fans, but the situation deteriorated rapidly and eventually descended into chaos.

Some sources claim Balotelli was very much involved in the brawl, while others insist he specifically walked away to avoid involvement. If a number of reports are to be believed, the 25-year-old forced his way onto a bus that was set to take the youngsters home, which is where most of the action took place.

One 33-year-old man who inadvertently got involved in the fracas was seriously injured, getting his hand trapped in the ticket machine and consequently being forced to have three fingers amputated after being hospitalised.

Whatever Balotelli’s involvement may have been, there will almost certainly be a follow up investigation and questions for the Italian forward.
