We’ve barely heard or seen from Mamadou Sakho since his UEFA ban for taking a suspected illegal substance towards the end of last term.
The centre-back requested a 30 day provisional suspension so as to protect the club, before his lawyers successfully argued that the substance he tested positive for shouldn’t have been on the banned list anyway.
Despite this, we’ve still not heard or seen much of the Frenchman – who wasn’t called up to Euro 2016 as a result of the case. Previously, Sakho was constantly joking on social media or seen at charity events, but he’s gone quiet during the process – much to the sadness of his fans.
But today, a video of him by Marathon Bet acting as quizmaster for a Euro 2016 test of knowledge between Nathaniel Clyne and Joe Allen has surfaced! Sakho is typically bubbly, but the fact he’s representing France suggests to us the quiz may have been filmed before his ban…
Either way, it’s good to see Sakho smiling – and we can’t wait to see him back on the pitch next season.
