Odds slashed for Liverpool star to follow Rodgers to Scotland

A lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury has left Danny Ings unable to make much of an impact at Liverpool, and he could now be on his way out of the club after odds were slashed for the English striker to join Rangers, according to the Daily Record.

Ings obviously got off to a decent even if not spectacular start to his Liverpool career, scoring three times in eight games following his move from Burnley. Injury ruled him out for almost the entire season though, and that bit of bad luck looks like it may have prematurely ended his time at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp seems to have a very different direction in mind for Liverpool when compared to the vision Brendan Rodgers had, and is clearly looking to put his own stamp on the club and make his own signings – understandably so.

As the report suggests, Ings has been heavily linked with a move to Scottish side Rangers, with the odds now slashed for him to make the summer switch. Bookies are often privy to information that we don’t have, as it’s their job to know the trends so they don’t lose massive amounts of money.

Brendan Rodgers is now manager at Celtic, so if Ings does make the switch to Rangers then he could be lining up against the manager that signed him just a year ago.

In all honesty, Ings hasn’t seemed like he’s looking towards the exit this summer, and seems more likely to want to stay and fight for his place at Liverpool – feeling he hasn’t had a fair crack at it yet. If Klopp insists that the 23-year-old is not in his plans though, then he may feel like he has no choice but to make a move.
