Liverpool ‘aggressively’ pursuing quality midfield target

As the summer wears on it has seemed increasingly unlikely that Mahmoud Dahoud will be available, with Borussia Monchengladbach determined to keep hold of him for at least another season. That hasn’t stopped Jurgen Klopp though, who is apparently still “aggressively” pursuing the German midfielder, according to the Daily Mail.

Different reports have quoted different transfer fees, but the Mail claim he’s being valued at around £20m. If we can secure the 20-year-old’s services for that price then it would be a superb bit of business, and clearly if Klopp is still after the Bundesliga star then he feels there’s a chance of getting a deal done.

With Christoph Kramer, Havaard Nordtveit, and now Laszlo Benes (via Borussia.de) already arriving, they clearly have plenty of midfielders. They wouldn’t be left short if they were to sell Dahoud, so we may still be in with a chance of signing him this summer.

We’ve been linked with a number of midfielders already, and the fact that Joe Allen looks to be on his way out of the club suggests we’re certainly going to sign at least one player in his position (via the Daily Star).

We look likely to see wholesale changes during Jurgen Klopp’s first summer in charge, and hopefully Dahoud is part of the Klopp revolution.
