Liverpool cult hero set to reunite with Brendan Rodgers in Scotland

Kolo Toure looks like he might be set to join Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic revolution north of the border.

According to reports in the British press, our ex-boss is desperate to add some Champions League experience to the Bhoys’ squad and sees our 35-year-old cult hero as the ideal candidate.

Kolo played a vital role in our charge to the Europa League final this season, especially after Mamadou Sakho’s drug test debacle – but Klopp opted not to offer him a new contract and he will be a free agent from the end of this month.

It was thought Klopp might offer Kolo a role on the club’s staff, but if that offer was ever made, it never became public.

Rodgers, of course, was the manager who brought Kolo to the squad back in 2013, just before our oh-so-nearly season of 2013/14. He made 46 starts for us over three years.

Toure has won the Premier League title twice, with Arsenal and Manchester City.
