Martin Skrtel has been with Liverpool since 2008 and off the field, has largely behaved immaculately. On the pitch his performances last term were shoddy, and Jurgen Klopp wants to sell him now as a result, but Skrtel’s online reaction to this has sent Reds into overdrive.

In short, his friend sent out an abusive hashtag, calling the German a ‘d*ck’ or ‘d*ickhead’ in Slovakian, before Skrtel laughed, called it a ‘top hashtag’ and claimed he hoped his manager saw it.

Naturally, Liverpool fans have reacted angrily, calling for the defender’s head at the earliest possible opportunity.
