Balotelli set to return to Melwood on Saturday – no clubs interested in transfer

A summer of rumour, counter-rumour, and a whole load of agent comments has come to nothing. Mario Balotelli WILL be back at Melwood on Saturday after Klopp ordered him to report for pre-season training.

According to the Express, there has been no interest at all in the player, leaving Klopp with the headache of dealing with the troublesome Italian’s antics.

He spent last season on loan with AC Milan in Serie A, but failed to convince the club to sign him permanently after scoring just one goal in the league all season.

It means that in the last two seasons combined, the former wonderkid has netted just TWO league goals. It’s a miserable return and it’s hardly surprising that clubs aren’t falling over themselves to sign him.

Balotelli will join fellow former loanee Lazar Markovic back on the training pitch, though it’s widely believed Klopp is willing to give the latter a chance to impress.
