A police watchdog is looking into the conduct of South Yorkshire Chief Constable David Crompton during the Hillsborough inquests earlier this year.
According to the BBC, the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) received complaints about both his and the force’s conduct at the hearings.
Crompton was suspended from the force immediately after the ‘not guilty’ verdicts were announced, with the South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner, Dr Alan Billings, believing there had been an “erosion of trust”.

It is understood that the complaint was received from one of the Hillsborough families’ legal representatives.
The IPCC said in a statement that it is now “conducting an assessment of all available information to decide how the matter should be progressed”.
It is not clear when further news about the story will be forthcoming. As always, media outlets are limited in what they can report about on-going legal proceedings.
