Out talented young winger Ryan Kent could be about to join Barnsley on a 12-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old enjoyed a successful loan spell at Coventry last season, making 17 starts before being recalled by Klopp in January to be assessed.

He made his debut for Liverpool in the FA Cup, but with fewer games this season, he’s not expected to be in contention for a place in the senior matchday squads. As such, Klopp seems to be ready to endorse a move to the newly-promoted Championship outfit (via Squawka).

It could be a make or break season for Kent. Clearly he has talent, but as we’ve seen with Ibe, it’s not easy to make the jump from talented kid to dependable squad player.

Whether or not he has a future at Liverpool could depend on our involvement in Europe in 2017/18; though with no European football this term, failure to make at least the Europa League in the following season would be seen as a gross failure.
