Bad things happen to good people, sometimes, and Mamadou Sakho cannot catch a break at the moment.
The Frenchman will miss the start of the season with an achilles problem he’s now to have surgery on, having had his career ruined for the past few months by the ineptitude of UEFA and WADA.

Sakho’s been exonerated of blame for taking a fat burner which wasn’t on WADA’s banned list, but the agency is considering appealing the (lack of) conviction in an attempt to stop him taking legal action against their organisation. They advised UEFA to suspend Sakho, aware that higenamine, which was found in his fat burner, isn’t on the banned list. Truly outrageous.
