Mario Balotelli could be heading to the Chinese Super League this summer, but we face a race against the clock if we want the deal to happen.

According to the Express, the player would need to complete a deal by Friday evening, with the Chinese transfer window slamming shut at midnight.

The report claims Balotelli has been aware of interest from Asia for six months. It seems the talks went quiet with the Italian hopeful of finding a European club, but they’ve now been resumed.

The potential fee is unclear, but it could be at least as much as the £15 million we paid for the problematic striker two years ago.

Whether or not the China deal materialises, it’s clear Mario will be on his way out eventually. Klopp confirmed the news earlier this week, saying: “He’s not at the stage of his career where he should be battling with four or five other players for one or two positions…so it’s clear we need a solution.”
