Adam Bogdan had a medical at Wigan Athletic today.

However, according to the Echo, the move will only be a season-long loan switch rather than a permanent transfer.

It’s not clear why we’d choose to loan him out. Despite his errors at Liverpool, he’s still a competent keeper and is well-proven at Championship level. Surely there are some teams in the second tier that would love a player like Bogdan between the sticks?

The article claims he wants to move in search of first-team football, making it appear slightly odd that he was willing to sign for us in the first place. He must’ve known that Mignolet was unlikely to be dislodged from the starting eleven?

Even when presented with his chance over Christmas he failed to take it, committing errors against Watford and West Ham that permanently sullied him in the eyes of Klopp.

By the end of the season, Danny Ward had overtaken him as Mignolet’s backup.
