In Klopp we trust ?

There seems to be a disconnect amongst the fanbase as to what we should or shouldn’t be doing in the transfer market. The anti-transfer committee brigade have made clear that the manager should have full control, that it should sit on his head. This is something I agree with.

Now what we have Klopp, and he is clearly in charge of transfers, he has identified who he wants, and the club have signed those players (generally, if we can). He has been backed 100% with who we buy and who we sell, so why is there so much backlash? why is there now criticism of our dealings?

Take Wijnaldum as the prime example, a signing clearly Klopp wanted, fits his blueprint and has a proven Premier League record. £25m in the current market isn’t much for an established international who scored double figures from midfield last season, yet I read people slating the club and by extension Klopp for not aiming higher.

I am not sure why people suddenly don’t trust Klopp, his methods have always been the same, the right pieces in the puzzle, not the most expensive or desirable. It worked at Dortmund, this is what he made his name on, so now, why do LFC fans think he should change this and buy a name for a shirt like Utd have done? This is not the Klopp way, and was never the LFC way in the glory years. Was a Houghton or Gillespie a star? No it was the right piece of the puzzle. Whenever we have gone ‘big’ it has been a quick fix to paper over the other cracks, from Collymore to Torres, we have spent big but what has it delivered as a team in the long term? In fact when we had a ‘team’ we won the Champions League, no one thought Traore or Smicer were great individuals?

We acquired Klopp as his ways sync with our historical DNA, Liverpool Football Club make world class players not buy them, they play as a team and not as individuals, we trust the squad not any one player. Now is not the time to second guess LFC or Klopp, it’s time to trust his vision, plan and execution.

If Wijnaldum, Mane, Karius and Grujic are key parts of a long term plan to bring success then I support that, we all should.

IN KLOPP WE MUST TRUST.
