Kolo Toure has been unveiled to the Scottish media after his free transfer to Celtic – and he immediately paid tribute to our club and our fans.

“I would like to thank every supporter in Liverpool and all the people I’ve been working with in Liverpool,” he said.

“It’s been three good years there and for me it was really important to say bye bye to them and thank them for all the support they gave me.

“I left a great club”. (via SkySports video)

Toure was signed by Brendan Rodgers ahead of the 2013/14 season. He made 31 league starts in three seasons at the club, as well as a further 15 league appearances off the bench.

He also started eight matches in out run to the final of last season’s Europa League. He was widely considered to be our best player in the aftermath of our disappointing final defeat.

Apparently, he will probably not be involved in Celtic’s Champions League qualifier against Astana this week.
