Liverpool star officially completes £6m Premier League switch

We all knew this one was coming, but Brad Smith is now officially a Bournemouth player after flying back from the US to agree a deal, as reported by the Echo.

The Australian international headed back to England to discuss terms and finalise the deal, with a fee agreed that could rise as high as £6m, according to the Echo.

The 22-year-old has impressed when given the chance at Liverpool, but he’s no longer a youngster and clearly needs game time to progress in his career. That’s something he’s unlikely to get regularly if he were to remain at Anfield, so a move to Bournemouth could be fantastic for him.

He’ll join Jordon Ibe with the Cherries, so he’ll have a friend at the club already to help him settle in. He’s still got the potential to become a great player, and Bournemouth could be the club to help him do it.

£6m for a relatively unproven player is also a great bit of business, and while it’s a shame to see him leave, we wish him well on the South Coast.
