Schalke midfielder Max Meyer has been speaking about our manager, Jurgen Klopp.
In an interview with German football magazine Kicker, he regaled a story of when he played against the then-Dortmund coach when he was an 18-year-old.
“After my first derby against Borussia Dortmund – I was 18-years-old and scored a goal – he publicly expressed praise for me.
“That’s a nice feeling, when a great coach says he finds you good.
“I know from the past that he appreciates me as a player.”

Despite being linked with a £28.1 million switch to Anfield this summer (via Bild), however, he insists he has no plans to leave Schalke during the transfer window:
“I am very happy at Schalke and I am still very young,” he stated.
“I have many more years as a player in front of me. I feel 100 percent here.”
He scored five goals and grabbed eight assists in 32 outings last term.
