Loris Karius shows off wrist cast & provides hope for Liverpool fans

It’s a crying shame Loris Karius is injured, it really is.

The German keeper broke a bone in his wrist trying to punch a ball against Chelsea. He hit Dejan Lovren’s head instead, and will now miss the beginning of the Premier League campaign as a result.

Karius shared an image on Instagram which included his wrapped up right fist and the caption: “I’m back at home after a successful surgery! Thanks for all your get-will wishes!” which indicates all went well…

Karius was lined up to begin the Premier League campaign in goal, but will now have to wait until he regains fitness. As a result, Simon Mignolet should continue between the sticks, although his error against Roma suggests his weaknesses are yet to be ironed out… At least we have somebody capable of replacing him eventually returning to action, however, instead of Adam Bogdan or Brad Jones.
