Lee Mason appointed referee for Burnley vs Liverpool clash

The Premier League have appointed Lee Mason as the referee of our trip to Burnley next weekend.

According to the league’s website, he will be helped by linesmen Beck and Ledger, and fourth official Kevin Friend.

Mason only took charge of two of our matches last season and we won both of them. The first was the dramatic 5-4 win at Carrow Road in January, and the second a 3-0 victory over Watford in May. (via LFCstats).

In total, he’s taken charge of 23 Liverpool matches and dished out 30 yellow cards and three straight red cards. Those reds were given to Carragher, Philippe Degan, and Mascherano.
