Jurgen Klopp’s methods attacked by new Inter Milan boss

New Inter Milan boss Frank de Boer has criticised the way Jurgen Klopp approached his first few months in charge of Liverpool.

“I remember (Jurgen) Klopp taking over at Liverpool last October and tried to immediately impose his high-pressing style which he used at Borussia Dortmund and it resulted in several injuries, nine in fact,” he said.

“Sometimes it is better to slow down.”

While it’s true that we did suffer a mini injury crisis in January, it’s also important to point out that a) Klopp didn’t have a pre-season, and b) we had a very successful second half of the season – reaching two cup finals and being the league’s highest scorers after Christmas.

Would we have had that same success if Klopp hadn’t immediately imposed his will on the side? Probably not…

“We’ll see my Inter after four months, that’s the norm,” he continued.

“In January, you will have more of an idea about what we are trying to do as I have only arrived.” (cited via Echo)
