Liverpool player ratings v Burnley: Absolutely woeful performance from dire Reds

Posted by

This is probably the cumulatively lowest we’ve ever ranked a Liverpool side since we’ve been doing payer ratings on Empire of the Kop.

Let that sink in. We’ve probably been kind, too.

Mignolet – 6/10 – Can’t be blamed for the goals – but get this: the past five shots on target Mignolet has faced, we’ve conceded.

Clyne – 3/10 – Horrible outing. At fault for first goal and offered nothing going forward.

Milner – 4/10 – Kept cutting back on his right-foot and slowing the game down. But he’s not a left-back.

Klavan – 4/10 – Slow, ponderous. Stepped out of defence for Burnley’s second and didn’t make the tackle when recovering either.

Lovren – 6/10 – Some decent tackles, but turned his back for Burnley’s second.

Henderson – 3/10 – Not a deep-lying playmaker. Poor in every sense of the word.

Wijnaldum – 4/10 – Just as bad as Henderson. Sloppy on the ball.

Lallana – 6/10 – Nice feet on a few occasions, but to little avail.

Sturridge – 3/10 – Started on the right wing and slowed the game down for us. When moved centrally, did nothing. Creatively invisible.

Coutinho – 6/10 – Tried to make things happen, but ended up just curling shots over the bar from range.

Firmino – 3/10 – Ghastly performance from the Brazilian. Offered nothing in attack and gave the ball away relentlessly.

SUBS:

Moreno – 5/10 – Delivered a few balls with his left.

Origi – 5/10 – More running than Sturrdge.

Grujic – 5/10 – One shot curled over.
