Former England striker frightens all Liverpool fans with his quotes on Daniel Sturridge

Daniel Sturridge on England duty only means one thing – injuries.

We thought the situation might have got better after the departure of the utterly useless and entirely infuriating Roy “I was testing his resolve” Hodgson, but now it seems that one former England star has piped up with some words of wisdom for new boss Big Sam Allardyce.

That’s right – Darius Vassell has urged Allardyce to start Sturridge up front.

“The way Sturridge handles pressure, almost like a no-fear attitude — if the other players handled it in the same way, thinking, ‘I am going for it, gung-ho’, then maybe we would have got further in the tournament.” (Mirror)

Don’t get us wrong, we love seeing Daniel in an England shirt as much as the next person, but the “gung-ho” gets us quaking in our boots.

He can go gung-ho under the expert guidance of Klopp and our medical staff all he wants – they’re watching him and know exactly what he can and cannot do fitness-wise – but under the watchful eye of an entirely new set of England coaching staff who have never worked with him before?
