Image goes viral on Liverpool Twitter which shows New Anfield Road End could DWARF the Kop

In under ten days’ time, we’ll get to watch Liverpool at Anfield in front of a bigger official crowd than anything since the 1950s.

This is thanks to the opening of the New Main Stand, which increases Anfield’s seated capacity to 54,000.

However, the club has long-term ambitions to increase the Anfield Road End as well, and images of its planning proposal from a few years back have circled big Liverpool Twitter accounts today.

The Kop’s on the left, with the expanded away end on the right!

We reiterate that these images are not new, but anyone who’s seen the Main Stand from the outside can testify how much bigger it is than the Annie Road End.

It’d be great for us to continue work on our hallowed stadium and bring the capacity up to something over 60,000.

It’s not like we wouldn’t fill it out every week, but in fairness – it’s probably best to enjoy the Leicester game on September 10 first!
