Michael Owen makes surprisingly sensible point RE Liverpool’s summer

Michael Owen has transformed from boy wonder, to world-class striker, to injury-plagued forward, to traitor, to buffoonish pundit.

Liverpool fans have very little time for him because he signed for Manchester United having once been worshipped on the Kop – simple as that.

And his repeated foot-in-mouth moments while working as a commentator or pundit has seen his reputation vanish, but in fairness – he’s spot on here.

Owen has praised Klopp for the number of players he’s managed to offload during his first summer in charger, saying it can only be beneficial for the club.

In total, Liverpool sold or released 13 players and have loaned out a further nine players – 22 exits in total!

That’s ruthless, but shows the boss is tailoring the squad he thinks can compete in 2016/17. We reached two finals last term with Brendan Rodgers’ roster, so it’ll be after this campaign where we can properly judge the German.

We have high hopes, as all fans should.
