Lucas hails Liverpool depth – claims we have two quality teams

Lucas Leiva has said our squad depth is now so strong that we can field two completely different teams and still compete for honours.

“I think it’s clear that we have very good players in every single position – and not just one good player, I would say we have two teams you could put out to get you results,” he said (via official site).

Klopp oversaw seven new arrivals and a whole host of departures this summer. Even though we made a profit on transfer fees, that was largely down to the amount of deadwood we were clearing out — there can be no denying that we now have a stronger side that last season.

Out depth is arguably even stronger than when we almost won the title in 2014 (Aly Cissokho and Iago Aspas, anyone?!).

The likes of Mane, Grujic, and Wijnaldum have given us a new dynamism is midfield, Matip and Klavan both look like excellent additions to the back four, and Loris Karius will hopefully solve our long-standing goalkeeper issues.

With no European football to worry about this term, there is definitely reason to be excited for what might lie in store.
