Liverpool’s players are just as excited about our new 54,000 capacity as the supporters, it seems.
Fans have been patiently waiting to step inside the newer, bigger Anfield, which now has a complete New Main Stand ahead of Saturday’s clash with Leicester City.
Due to ongoing construction work, we’ve yet to play a home game this campaign, but are now just two days away from the Premier League champion’s visit.

Daniel Sturridge might not be in the starting lineup against Claudio Ranieri’s side, but he’s said all the right things today about the importance of the fans and our continued support.
“As players we will see the difference,” he told Liverpoolfc.com.
“Week in, week out we need the fans as much as possible. They turn up and it’s always a sell-out at Anfield.
“It’s important that it continues to be like that and they are vocal, as they are all the time. Because without them we wouldn’t be where we are and who we are.
“We understand the importance of the fans and we’re grateful for everything they have done for us in helping us and pushing us on the football field. We’ll look to repay them with results.”
Liverpool’s home record in the Premier League under Klopp was poor last term. We consistently failed to break teams down who parked the bus, and were then susceptible to the counter-attack defensively.
Hopefully our summer additions, the time on the training ground and an even louder stadium will help put this right.
Klopp’s chosen Firmino up top recently, but with it being a home game Liverpool should dominate, Sturridge could well come back into the reckoning. We’d like him to, as he’s the most natural finisher in the squad, but we’ll accept the manager’s verdict either way.
