El Hadji Diouf leaps into the ongoing Balotelli saga – blames Gerrard for Italian’s failure

El Hadji Diouf – aka the worst striker to play for Liverpool in the Premier League era – has leapt to the defence of Mario Balotelli in his ongoing war of words with the club.

In an interview with French paper L’Equipe, Diouf said he warned Mario not to move to Anfield because Steven Gerrard was a jealous man.

“I told him not to go to Liverpool,” he said.

“It wasn’t made for him, that things couldn’t go well with Gerrard, who has never had his talent and then said negative things about him. Gerrard is a jealous man who doesn’t like men of character.”

Hmmm…

Jealous of what exactly, El Hadji?

If anything, there is only one jealous person in this whole sorry charade — and it’s you. Please, take a moment to remind us all how your career panned out? Much silverware? Thought not.

Mario made his debut for Nice at the weekend and scored twice – thus eclipsing the amount of league goals he scored in his entire Liverpool career in just one game. You’d know it, wouldn’t you?!
