We played with red nets throughout the 1970s and 80s, but Roy Evans asked for white nets to be installed in 1995 after players complained about the red blending into the players behind the Kop.
Klopp seems to agree with Evans. The red nets were in place on Thursday night for the training session at Anfield, but were replaced with white because Klopp thinks they are more visible to a player’s peripheral vision.
