Liverpool U18s destroyed by Everton in first mini-derby of the season

The Liverpool U18s side were routed by our cross-town rivals Everton as we went down to a miserable 4-1 loss.

It was an embarrassing result for our young guns, especially as the game was played at our own Kirkby academy.

A brace from both Antony Evans and Daniel Bramall were enough to give the Blues all three points. Our goalscorer was Yan Dhanda.

We were only 1-0 down at half-time and actually managed to draw level just moments after the restart, but thereafter Everton took control.

Two goals in nine minutes midway through the half effectively sealed the game. Bramall added a late fourth.

The game ended with worrying scenes for Reds wing-back Adam Lewis, who was stretchered off in added time with what appeared to be a serious ankle injury.
